The UAE chapter aims to bring together the tech community, representatives of NGOs and entrepreneurs, to identify the needs of refugees and come up with creative ideas which could take the form of technological solutions.
We plan to host forums where we bring together key stakeholders, hold Hackathons, ideation- and speaker-sessions, set-up university programmes, organise event collaborations and broader awareness raising events for an acute global issue. In the process we aim to encourage viable ideas to become a project and to reach the level of implementation.
In terms of solutions, we are looking for game-changing yet feasible technological ideas. Entries may be existing initiatives or entirely new concepts. The criteria are: potential impact on the crisis, relevance, feasibility, scalability, creativity/originality.
